MENU FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 8, 2011
The weather has rather messed me up this weekend. What was supposed to be a good weekend has turned into a chilly, rainy one. Ergo, last nights Tuscan Chicken Grilled Under A Brick became our usual Roast Chicken, except for the fact that there was no real time to brine it. That does make a difference, but that being said, it was a good Roast Chicken and wonderful local corn. So Fresh! I’ve got the Chicken/Brick thing on the menu for next week again so lets hope….
The rain is supposed to be on and off through the better part of next week, so I am planning accordingly.
As I write this, there are two does and a still spotted fawn grazing just under my window. It’s a tough time for the young ones. It would appear that the does are trying to wean the youngsters and the fawns don’t seem all that happy about it. Despite the havoc that they create for the landscaping they are beautiful to watch. We’ve seen herds as large as a dozen passing through. If only they were a little more organized we wouldn’t need our lawn services…
