December 26, 2011

MENU FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 26, 2011

Cats are funny. Our cat, Julia Child, has very specific ideas on all matters.  But they change, so that keeps us on our toes.  As a young cat, she adored an occasional chicken liver.  Then, that became passé for about 10 years.

Now, she has reconnected with them. She is again, most specific on fish.  Cod, flounder, sole are fine. Salmon - non! And for the last few years she’d go bonkers for shrimp.  She’s enjoy a piece of lobster now and again, but it was the shrimp that set her in motion.

That was last week. This weekend we offered her some fresh crab meat.  She inhaled it. We were delighted she was happy.  And for Christmas we gave her not one, but two shrimp.  She ate it. Slowly.  After glaring at us. Just to let us know that in the future she prefers the crab. This week…. An oh yes, her highness refused to have anything to do with the furry toy rat that Santa brought her.  There is just no pleasing some cats…
