October 24, 2011

MENU FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 24, 2011

Fall is really upon us. The foliage changes daily and the nights are crisp and cool. It’s a lovely season with the exception of the onset of field mice looking for a comfy home. In the past Julia Child has been a fearless hunter and the mice had a really short stay. This year, however, I think that she feels she’s earned her retirement. Oh, sure, she’ll catch the occasional rodent, but none of this full time stuff. The other evening we had four separate mouse sitings (it could have been one mouse doing laps….). And where was the cat? She was curled up on her kitty cat bed in front of a space heater… On the other hand, sometimes I know how she feels.
