MENU FOR THE WEEEK OF OCTOBER 11, 2011




People often say you are only as old as you feel. So, after a long weekend with a very bright and active 8 year old,  I feel 502….We had a great time with our Daniel.  Did the Bronx Zoo (even rode a camel!) and also the Intrepid. 



The Intrepid had a “ride” that was a capsule that held two “pilots” with various controls. When the capsule door closed, the “pilots” were able to manipulate the vessel up, down, and around every which way.  Daniel took the controls and flew this thing for what it was worth. I had motion sickness just watching….He was happy as hell.



We had Indian Summer with temps going to 80.  Wonderful!  However now we are really into fall – foliage and all.  So we are thinking fall foods including sauerbraten that has already been marinating for several days. Did a Chicken Lo Mein last night – with the left over roast chicken.  This is a wonderful, fast, healthy was to utilize left over chicken, pork or shrimp. These leftovers are not a hardship!
