MENU
FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2, 2013
My
prophecy proved correct. The night I
planned for Tuscan Chicken Cooked Under a Brick it rained – as it has every
time I have put it on the menu this
summer. Years ago I had a lovely recipe
for a dessert Sweet Cranberry soup.
Every time I planned one serving it, it rained. Now I’m not
superstitious – I simply haven’t served that soup in 25 years. I’ll have to figure something else out for
the chicken. It’s too damn good to ignore…
This
weekend supposedly is the end of summer.
I feel confused. I don’t feel as
though summer has really begun. The
strange weather we’ve been experiencing is something else. Any number of evenings recently we’ve had the
a/c running upstairs to make the bedroom comfortable while running the space heater in the dining room during
dinner. Which probably means we’ll have
snow in October and a heat wave for Thanksgiving. Things have been going like that…..
