MENU FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 17 - 25, 2012

It would appear that Christmas is upon us.  Our tree is up and trimmed.  Each year since we've been married we've bought at least one Waterford Christmas ornament. We've been married 31 years, so we have these and a few extras/doubles and one piece of Baccarat.   White lights only – lovely.  And fitting for us, it is in the dining room – where we spend a good bit of our time.

The menu is fairly traditional.  Warner would not be happy without a  standing rib for Christmas Eve.  And the crab has become a tradition as well.  For New Years duck  and perhaps lobster –Julia Child’s fabulous lobster sauté with Madeira on puff pastry shells.

There were some comments this week about goose.  I’ve done a goose on several occasions and just thought I’d see if  Shop Rite had it available.  They did.  Frozen.  At about $80.  Warner says quality fresh is about double this.  My  question is this-  with or without the golden egg….
