FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 26, 2012
The
trauma of this past week was the cat’s annual physical. In addition to her usual shots, etc., we had
a chip implanted. She was distinctly
unhappy about the entire process and lets us know – in no uncertain terms. She
has also acquired an admirer. He is a
big orange tom – obviously someone’s pet. (The animal appears to be in good
condition and is wearing a collar). He
not only prowls around her property (she does own the place…) but comes
right up on the deck and right to our back door. That is when the howls of protest start…
(Spelled cat fight). I go out and explain to said Tom that while I am sure he
is a lovely cat, we’d please like him to go home and leave our princess
alone. And if he is unwilling to do that,
next time he appears he’ll be staring down (at close range ) the muzzle of a
newly installed garden hose. Turned on
to full volume….
This
week our weather went from May back to winter and is now once again edging
towards spring. The flowering shrubs and
fruit trees are in full bloom and foliage is starting to appear – much, much
earlier than normal. Usually, foliage is
around the first week of May. The only problem with all this happiness is it
sets off all of our allergies. So we
wheeze, cough, deal with our sinuses, but it it is so lovely and it does beat the cold.
It just points out that there is not one perfect season.
