MENU
FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 12, 2012
Just
now, looking out on my neighbor’s back lawn, I saw my first robin!!!!Think I’ll
cut some forsythia this afternoon.
Daffodils are on their way. There
is nothing quite so invigorating as these first days of spring – especially
when it is so early.
Officially, spring
doesn’t begin for another week. Temps have been in the 70s here and some are
predicting 80 next week. I also saw my first
woodchuck yesterday and that I’m not
quite so happy about! Useless, ugly
creatures. And bought my first pansies
today. The rest of the deck garden will
have to wait until the end of May. Our
frost date is May 15th.
Tried
Jacques Pepin’s Cod in Olive Horseradish Sauce from The Essential Pepin.
Fabulous!! Don’t think it took 10 minutes and it really had a great deal of
flavor going on. Always looking for
better fish recipes as we need to eat more of it. Which is difficult as Warner tends to loathe
it. Claims most fish has no flavor (a filet of sole????)So I’m always on the
hunt for recipes he might tolerate – or perhaps enjoy.
