Summer
is finally here – and with a vengeance.
Temps are in the high 90s and I am hearing the electric meter tick off
hundreds of dollars as we do need the a/c in this weather. We are also keeping the cat in – she is twelve
and I can’t imagine this heat would be healthy for her (that fur coat and
all). So she is disgruntled to say the
least. Ever live with a disgruntled
feline???? And who says they can’t communicate…..
I
am running through my annual medical stuff in the next few weeks. That should take care of whatever funds are
leftover from the utility people. In addition to the pokes and prods and pricks
one has to fast for 12 hours and refrain from using deodorant in summer. What will they think of next???? Although to
be fair, I am glad they check as thoroughly as they do.
My
tomatoes on the deck are coming along. There are some small tomatoes already,
but in the last week they are bursting with flowers which should bode well for
production. And the plants, themselves
are starting to look quite lush. And there is that lovely tomato scent in the
evening when I go out to water. I just wish I could plant more vegetables here.
